Classic Freestyle or Old skool freestyle is a term used to describe a now small area of skateboarding,not street skateboarding which is sometimes refered to as freestyle skateboarding, it was where most street moves were invented aswell as a lot of vert moves, In freestyle skateboarding the skater will skate on a perfectly flat area with no ramps or obstacles and preforms a routine of tricks linked together over a minute period sometimes 2. Between tricks the skater will add footwork moves such as walk the dogs and endovers (see trick list) to make the routine more intresting and fluid. At the end of the run a group of judges will score the skater just like a vert or street comp!

At the end off a competition the Judges will also give a prize for the best trick preformed by the skaters on that day, examples such as triple fingerflips or handstand kickflips are such best trick winners.Also a regular feature at Freestyle comps are a multiple 360 contest where the riders will try and spin as many sucesive 360s off the back wheels as possible the world rercord for this is well over 100 rotations in one spin!!!
